Moorpark, California: Moorpark Hosts Outdoor Movies

Moorpark marked its 25th anniversary with its first-ever outdoor movie night: a free screening of WarGames (1983, Matthew Broderick) at Arroyo Vista Park on Saturday, August 16. CommCinema handled the setup, with entertainment beginning at 7 p.m. and the film starting around 8. A full moon was overhead; concessions were available on site.

“I think we picked a fun family movie that has relevance to the world today,” said Jennifer Mellon, Moorpark’s senior management analyst. The city hoped a strong turnout would support future outdoor movie events.
